Call for Submissions! The North Valley Mountain Film Festival 2012
The North Valley Mountain Film Festival is making a public call for submissions for the sixth annual event on March 3, 2012 at the Bosun Hall in New Denver. Whether you are a seasoned filmmaker, accomplished mountain adventurer, or someone who would like the opportunity to share a story from the mountains, you are encouraged to submit an entry.
Content boundaries are wide open, with the only qualifier being the subject of “mountains”. Past festivals have featured films and photo essays on topics ranging from tobogganing to ice climbing, wildlife to culture, mountain biking to whitewater kayaking. Submissions that are five minutes or less have a better chance of being selected, and entries must be all-ages appropriate.
For the first time ever, the North Valley Mountain Film Festival introduces a multimedia storytelling format to the regular lineup. Festival organizers are actively encouraging local filmmakers and photographers to add a personal storytelling touch to presentations. The festival would like to celebrate the mountains through sharing stories, discoveries and insights – in fifteen minutes or less. Please include a script for this format.
The deadline for submissions of films, photo essays or multimedia presentation proposals is January 31, 2012. Please submit entries to Box 377 New Denver, BC V0G 1S0. For more information please contact Gary Parkstrom by email or call 250-358-2164.
